June 2010 - Avenue ISR Completes Second Phase of The Universal Health Care Symbols (UHCS) Project

June 2010 - Avenue ISR recently completed work on Phase II of the Universal Health Care Symbols (UHCS) initiative of Habloamos Juntos, a national program funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) to develop easy-to-understand ways to navigate through healthcare facilities. Avenue ISR worked in partnership with Corbin Desing and the Society for Environmental Graphic Design (SEGD) to help four innovator facilities around the US develop effective symbols based wayfinding systems.  Facilities ranged from a large public hospital in Atlanta, Georgia to a medical clinic in Seattle, Washington.

Avenue ISR was specifically tasked with measuring the impact of wayfinding systems on the patient experience and on organizational performance.  This groundbreaking effort has helped to develop dramatically improved tools for helping patients and visitors with Limited English Proficiency.
